Animal Services Volunteer Opportunities

Animal shelters, animal control programs, veterinary clinics and hospitals and other similar organizations that are actively seeking individuals who are willing, on a voluntary basis without remuneration, to work directly with animals who are abandoned, lost, abused, sick, trapped or otherwise in need of care. Also included are organizations that need volunteers to provide pet related services for the people they serve.

Criminal Justice/Legal Services Volunteer Opportunities

Legal aid offices, city attorney's offices, police agencies, advocate programs and other similar organizations that are actively seeking individuals with the requisite knowledge, skills and experience who are willing to work on a voluntary basis without remuneration providing services for people who have been arrested and/or convicted of criminal offenses or are crime victims or witnesses and need legal assistance, advocacy or other supportive services.

Disaster/Emergency Services Volunteer Opportunities

Organizations that are actively seeking individuals with the requisite skills and experience who are willing to work on a voluntary basis without remuneration in communities that have been devastated by a major fire, flood, hurricane, earthquake, tornado, tsunami, volcanic eruption, landslide, mudslide, snowstorm, drought, famine, explosion or nuclear accident, the outbreak of civil unrest, or other large-scale emergency of natural or human origin that disrupts the community's normal functioning. Volunteers may offer their services prior to an emergency and wait to be called to provide assistance; or may make contact following the emergency if they recognize that their skills are needed.
