School Based Mentoring Program (select schools in Martin County)
Description
Elementary school students are matched with a high school or adult volunteer. Program is facilitated by BBBS staff. Volunteers work one on one with students to complete homework, play games and do character-building activities.

Community Based Mentoring

Required Documents
Children and volunteers must complete an application.
Eligibility
Children/guardians must want a mentor, be between 6-14 at time of enrollment, are not a danger to themselves or others, and complete an application. Volunteers must be willing to spend consistent time with a child, complete an application and screening including reference checks, driving record check, Level 2 background screening, and interview. Intake Procedure
To begin the intake process, volunteers or children can call, email (info@mentorbig.org), or visit website (mentorbig.org). Participants will be redirected temporarily to the national site where they are asked to type in their zip code. At that time, they will be directed to the agency in their area. Someone from office will be in touch to continue the enrollment process.

Description
School to Work Mentoring Provides a School to Work program focusing on preparing high school students for either college, post-secondary school, and/or the workplace. Youth attend monthly professional development workshops; meet virtually with business mentor to complete projects and earn stipend for participation.
