Bridges at Northwood

Description

The Bridges concept was developed so more children are born healthy, grow up safe and enter school ready to learn. These vital steps, taken early in life, vastly improve a child's chances of becoming an independent, healthy, successful adult. Improving young lives does more than benefit individual children and their families. Bridges are 10 neighborhood centers located in communities with a history of poor child outcomes. Each Bridges center is charged with creating awareness, and providing education and support in the areas of parenting and early childhood development. This is done by meeting the daily and long-term needs of local families and providing a comfortable, respectful, safe and helpful gathering place for residents, neighborhood groups, religious organizations and nonprofit agencies. Provides a provision of family and community engagement, serves to strengthen families and build community capacity and resilience. Offers the following: - Information on health and wellness for adults and children - Help getting medical care for pregnant women, babies and families with young children - Help finding quality child care and education for children - Workshops and practical advice to help parents raise their children - Help coordinating organizations and creating partnerships within the community to reduce duplication and increase service efficiency - A welcoming place where neighbors can share news, make friends and find support

Hours

Monday - Friday / 8:30 am-7:30 pm; Saturday / 10 am-2 pm; Evening hours vary depending on appointments and programming

Families in Northwood, West Palm Beach community and neighboring Pleasant City community.

Intake Procedure

Registration and assessments must be completed at the Bridges Northwood office.
