Description:
Provides medical eye care for the elderly (age 65 or older). Callers are screened and referred to local ophthalmologists who provide a comprehensive medical exam and care at no out-of-pocket cost for physicians services. Doctor will accept Medicare or insurance coverage as payment in full if available waiving co-pays and deductibles. However, hospital charges (if any), eyeglasses, and prescriptions are not covered through the program. If the client is uninsured there is no charge. Brochures are made available to the general public at no cost.

Eligibility
Must be age 65+, citizen or legal resident, and has not seen an ophthalmologist in at least three years. Can not belong to an HMO or receive eye care benefits through the VA.

No fees charged to client.
