Victim Services Division
Description
Advocates are assigned to each Prosecution Division in the State Attorney's Office (Felony, Misdemeanor and Juvenile). These Advocates assist victims when their cases are presented to the Office for prosecution. The Advocates ensure that victims are kept informed about the status of their cases, that victims are allowed to give input and express how the crime affected their lives and that victims are at all court hearings if they wish to attend. Other services include assistance in filing for Crimes Compensation, transportation to court hearings, assistance with employers and creditors, referrals to appropriate community resources for services needed, and anything which might make a victim more comfortable or secure in the aftermath of victimization. The State Attorney's Office, Victim Services Division has a 24 hour Hotline. Victims can call the Hotline any time day or night and a Victim Advocate will assist them.

Sexual Assault Assistance Program
Description
Provides a Sexual Assault Assistance Program 24 hour Hotline. Sexual violence victims who would like to speak with someone can call the Rape Crisis Line any time day or night and a Victim Advocate will assist them. According to Florida Statute, this is a Confidential call. Serves victims who choose to report to law enforcement as well as those who do not report.
