Description:

The Supervisor of Elections is a constitutional officer elected to serve a four-year term. He/she runs all governmental elections in the County. This office is also responsible for registering eligible County residents as voters, temporarily removing from the registration rolls the names of people who have not voted in two years nor returned the renewal card mailed to the, and generally for maintaining the registration rolls.

VOTER REGISTRATION - To register to vote, a person must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years old on or before election day, and a legal resident of Palm Beach County. A person may preregister during his/her 17th year. Proof of residency is not required to register to vote. The registration books close 29 days before each election. A Florida Voter Registration Application is available by mail by calling the above numbers. Voter Registration Applications are available at most city halls, banks, savings and loans, public assistance agencies, public libraries, driver's license offices and at all Supervisor of Elections offices.

ABSENTEE VOTING - Any registered voter unable to go to the polls on election day for a valid reason may vote by absentee ballot. An absentee ballot and further information, including residency requirements, can be obtained by calling or writing this office, or by visiting in person at the main office or any of the satellite courthouses. Ballots must be completed correctly and returned by 7 PM on Election Day to this office.
