Description:
This is a homeless shelter for families and Veterans. Access to the shelter is through coordinated entry of Palm Beach County. It is a comprehensive program and housing is only one component. Homeless clients must be willing to make a commitment to end their homelessness. As such, only appropriate clients will be accepted into the program. Applicants do not have to have a mental illness or substance disorder. New residents cannot leave the campus during intensive therapy.
The Center of Hope offers emergency and transitional housing with support services: comprehensive substance abuse treatment services; mental health screening and services; anger management classes; GED prep and testing; Adult basic education; budget management; interviewing skills; life skills, employability classes and job search; case management; reintegration services; on-site na/aa; off-site na/aa; transportation (when appropriate); on-site spiritual activities (by client choice); transportation to Salvation Army faith-based programs (by client choice); client newsletter; other long and short term activities for client skill-building, relaxation, and socialization.
Also provides two programs for Veterans, Grand and Per Diem and Health Care for Homeless Veterans. The first is a two-year transitional housing program and the second is short-term, up to four months. These enrollments must be approved by the West Palm Beach GPD liaison.
Also provides case management services for homeless veteran males.

Eligibility
Family and Veterans. must be homeless; Must be resident of Palm Beach County; Must be Family or Veteran-identify as a male, over 18; Must be appropriate for long-term residential program; must be able to work. Veterans need to call Susan Thomas 561-682-1118 x 26244 for eligibility requirements in the VA. Families must contact the County Lewis Center 562 904-7900.
Fees
No fees charged until resident is employed GPD only.
