4 Hours Florida State Parent Stabilization Course

Description

Provides a required course for parents needing to meet the state mandate co-parenting course requirement. Children in the Middle provides guidance in understanding co-parenting roles, best means for communicating with children and building personal strength in dealing with marital and custody change.

Hours

4 hours in length. The in person course has one sitting of 4 hours; the online course may be taken over several days at client's convenience.

Divorce Counseling and Divorce Coaching help the individual accept to understand the court process, examine how to interview attorneys and Guardian Ad Litems, and to find the means to cope with the traumatic impacts of divorce.

Description

Provides help to all parties to transition from a nuclear family situation to a reformatted arrangement of residence and time sharing. There are multiple approaches for Divorce Counseling: 1. Provides individual, parent and family therapy to help parents and children acknowledge their new roles, and to understand how they may now need to function effectively. 2. Examines how court orders for time sharing and visitation, co-parenting and new relationships bring new challenges. 3. Counseling to improve parent and child relationships, extended family relationships, communication between parents and children, and guidelines for new family interrelationships. 4. Family reunification between parents and their estranged and alienated children who may be living with a parent, grandparent or foster parent.

Description

Provides individual, couples and family therapy to help a individual and family members to uncover motivations for behavior, concerns for change family dynamics and to find the ability to move forward with emotional and physical safety. Counseling examines current and childhood traumas, helps to diagnose, identify or otherwise process current emotional and psychological status in relationships and or relating to family members and society. Family therapy is available for single parents, one or more children, other relatives and foster parents.

All family mediators and parent coordinators have completed certification training and are experienced and compliant with State of Florida mandates.

Description

Mediation (or Family Mediation) provides court ordered mediation for co-parenting plans, child custody and full married settlement agreements. Mediation is a process through which both parents are engaged in formulating child focused co-parenting and parenting plans. Also available: Parent Coordination for high conflict parents who have found that mediation was unsuccessful. This service differs from mediation as it is a partnership effort led by a trained facilitator to bring parents to a common understanding and acceptance in the creation of a parenting plan.

No restrictions unless drug or alcohol abuse or child abuse present.

Fees

Fees are based on sliding scale for mediation and parent coordination. Fees range from $190 per hour to $250 per hour based on documented income.

All Family Monitors have passed background checks and received 24 hours of state mandated training from the Toby Center. They are experienced and compliant with Clearinghouse on Supervised Visitation Guidelines. Some staff are bi-lingual. All Toby Center therapists are experienced and licensed in Florida.

Description

Supervised Visitation and Therapeutic Supervised Time Sharing services are offered to non custodial (away) parents seeking to a) strengthen their relationship with their children when the parents have separated due to divorce or domestic violence or addictions affecting behavior. It is usual for these families to have a court order and or joint agreement for supervised time sharing. Supervised visitation is ordered when the courts believe that children will be best served when they can have parenting time that is supervised by a trained third party. Therapeutic supervised visitation is provided when the courts believe that children and their parents will learn more about their concerns, and the emotional journey accompanying efforts for parenting time and also, for reunification. Reunification is a consideration when parents have been absent from their children's lives due to many reasons, but notably domestic violence, substance abuse and mental health issues. Trained monitors and therapists are available for standard and therapeutic visitation services. Services are offered both on site at locations used by the Toby Center and also off site in neutral, family friendly locations as shopping malls, parks, restaurants, children's museums and other age appropriate child friendly venues.

They have each passed Florida State level 2 background checks and serve as competent, reliable service providers. All Toby Center therapists are experienced and licensed in Florida.

Sometimes their parents and or guardians have no court order, but they do have a mediated or joing agreement.
