The VFW National Home is a Transitional Housing Program for Military and Veteran Families with children. Some homes are also offered to Auxiliary families, where the applicant has a parent who is/was a Veteran.

Intake Process:
The intake process for the VFW National Home includes sending in eligibility documents, filling out an application, an interview process, and completing other items during the process. The process can take up to 30 days to complete once an officially application is received.

Eligibility:
Eligibility needed can be different case by case depending on the family dynamics of the applicant. However, the following eligibility is required for ALL applicants:
- MUST be a Veteran, Active Duty Military, National Guard, OR Applicant have a parent who is a veteran
- MUST have custody of 1 or more children under the age of 18 (at least 50% custody)
- MUST be single, married, or widowed (no dating or engaged couples)

The VFW National Home is not an emergency shelter, and not all families who apply for the program are guaranteed approval.

Description
The VFW National Home is a Transitional Housing Program for Military and Veteran Families with Children. Some housing is available for Auxiliary applicants who have a parent who is/was a veteran. Families can stay in our program for up to 4 years. We are a campus filled with 42 single family homes as well as case management services, on site VSO, on site Veteran Support Specialist, on site Employment services, Community Center, Playgrounds, and a Licensed Daycare.
