Special Needs Sheltering
Description
A special needs shelter, also known as a medical shelter or medical special needs shelter, is a facility established during a disaster or emergency to provide temporary housing and specialized care for individuals with disabilities, chronic medical conditions, or other special needs that require assistance beyond what a standard shelter can provide. The goal of a special needs shelter is to ensure the safety, well-being, and dignity of individuals with special needs during a disaster by providing them with the necessary support and resources to meet their unique needs and facilitate their recovery process. Registration is required.
