Suncoast Mental Health Center (SMHC) is dedicated to community-based and family-centered care to help ensure positive mental health for every child and adult. SMHC strives to provide best-practice and research-based assessment, counseling, case management, and psychiatric services to children, adults and their families.
Offers an alternative to traditional therapy and psychiatric services by providing an environment that nurtures the child, affirms the adolescent, and empowers the adults and family.

Description
Provides services for adolescent/youth that are exhibiting behavioral and/or emotional difficulties. Services include case management, mental health therapy, psychiatric evaluations and treatment, and medication management for children and adults. Services provided by mental health professionals in conjunction with a family member either in the schools, home or outpatient offices. Children and families experiencing negative effects as a result of bullying are provided therapy and resources to counteract the effects of bullying.

Monday-Friday / 8 am-4:30 pm

Eligibility
Children, and their families, in school, supported by Medicaid or able to pay sliding scale fees or have healthy kids, Children's Medical Services, or other funding source. Some indigent funding is available.
Fees
Participates in Florida Medicaid program, and utilizes sliding fee scale for program clients.
Intake Procedure
Intakes are scheduled with licensed mental health therapists, who provide an assessment to determine the services necessary to assist the individual.
