Sporting events in which modified trucks are raced either in heats featuring two drivers or against the clock. Included are sand drag events in which modified trucks are raced through a sand pit; pro arena/stadium truck racing events in which stock trucks with modified chassis and engines are raced over an obstacle course, which varies widely depending on the particular arena or stadium; and monster truck events in which modified trucks with extremely oversized tires are raced over an obstacle course equipped with dirt ramps in which cars are jumped or run over and crushed. Truck racing events are sanctioned by the United States Hot Rod Association (USHRA) and the Monster Truck Racing Association (MTRA). Included are organizations that sponsor, organize, hold, promote, sell tickets to and publicize the events; provide information about competition schedules; and/or maintain information about current standings.
