All pregnant women are to be given a Healthy Start Prenatal Risk Screen at their health care providers office at their initial visit. The score from that screen or their health care provider determines if the woman is eligible for Healthy Start services. A care coordinator will then contact the woman so they may determine her needs and she can be referred to classes/counsel to increase her chances of having a healthy baby. Postnatal services are also available if eligible.
