The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court was established in the Florida Constitution as a public trustee, managing four primary functions and more than 1,000 individual responsibilities.

Description
Circuit Civil cases are non-criminal cases in which individuals or businesses sue for damages exceeding $50,000. Cases involving claims of $50,000 or less are under the jurisdiction of the County Civil Courts. Examples of Circuit Civil lawsuits include declaratory judgments, eminent domain, petitions, quiet title, and other civil actions.

Description
Drug Court is a program for first-time offenders who have been arrested for a qualifying drug offense. Drug Court provides the opportunity for substance abuse treatment. After successfully completing the program, the participant has developed skills to manage their substance abuse issues. The charges are dismissed. Drug Court also has participants who are involved as a special condition of probation/community control. The participants learn skills to manage their substance abuse. The charges are not dismissed at the successful completion of the drug court program. Description
Guardianships are legal proceedings in which a guardian is appointed to exercise legal rights of an incapacitated person, minor, voluntary wards, or developmentally disabled individuals. A guardian makes decisions and takes action regarding the wellbeing of the ward. All guardianship matters in Florida require an attorney pursuant to Florida Probate Rule 5.030. However, a guardian advocate is not required to be represented by an attorney.
