Description
Homeless Legal Prevention Project provides legal services to Palm Beach County residents facing housing eviction or non-renewal or termination of their lease. Rapid Response Eviction Assistance Project - RREAP provides individuals who have received three day notice or demand for rent from landlord or 30-day CARES Act covered property avoid homelessness by helping negotiate rental payments, payment plans, temporary rent reductions, deferred payments and other solutions.

Provides staff who will conduct initial intake and investigate the claim to see whether a valid wage dispute exists. If valid dispute exists a staff attorney will reach out to negotiate a settlement. If settlement fails, a demand letter will be drafted and sent to the employer with a mediation date attached. If mediation is unsuccessful a complaint will be filed in the 15th Judicial Circuit Wage Dispute Docket. A Legal Aid Society staff attorney will represent the plaintiff at the pre-trail conference and subsequent hearing.
