Description:
Provides assistance to Guatemalan-Maya refugees, but also all immigrants in need, who have relocated to Palm Beach County. Translators are available in English, Spanish, Q'anjob'al (Kanjobal). Provides free or low-cost assistance with immigration documentation and referrals to local pro bono attorneys. Assists with applications, re determinations, additional benefits, and changes of DCF ACCESS services. Offers evening classes in Practical English for Life Skills and Employment Opportunities. Provides nightly Teen Group meetings for recent immigrants and refugees with English classes and fun, social activities led by professional mental health advocates, certified ESL teachers, and many adult volunteers. Offers assistance for Health Care district enrollment by appointment or first come on Wednesdays and Fridays. Food Pantry. Offers free clothing and household needs, as available from donated goods, per request once a month.
