Description:
Provides a broad range of mental and drug abuse services in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, St. Lucie counties. Agency services are available to all residents and visitors in its service area. The principal criterion for receiving a service is need. Services are provided to individuals who voluntarily request them, and the agency also operates in accordance with Florida's alcohol, drug abuse, and mental health laws to provide evaluation and treatment on an involuntary basis. Client fees are assessed on a sliding scale based on income and family size. Accepted methods of payment include most insurance, Medicaid and Medicare.

Transitional Group Home (TGH)
Description
TGH engages individuals with severe and persistent mental illness with major illness, deficits in activities of daily living and independent living and in need of intensive staff supervision, support and assistance. The system of care is recovery oriented, consumer directed and family/support centered. Provides room and board in a supervised setting with goal(s) to empower, motivate and teach individuals to take responsibility for their recovery, teach and encourage adaptive coping and life skills, gain independence, integrate and foster success in the community.

Adult Outpatient Counseling
Description
Outpatient Counseling Services provide services for individuals in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie Counties. Clients may be referred by family, a community agency, the courts, or may be self-referred. Comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations are conducted. Based upon the evaluation and diagnosis, the appropriate treatment will be provided for individuals, couples and families. The Outpatient Centers are conveniently located throughout our four county service area. Hours are Monday through Friday 8 am to 6 pm. Evening hours vary at each center. Description

Services include evaluations for mental illness, serious emotional disturbances, and chemical dependency to determine level of care. Individuals may be admitted to the Crisis Stabilization Unit or Detoxification Unit either voluntarily or involuntarily by legal order. Referrals to other services are made when necessary.

Children's Crisis Stabilization Unit (CCSU)
Description
Provides a 20 bed integrated Mental Health Crisis Stabilization Unit and Addictions Receiving Facility (ARF). Services provided 25 hours a day, 7 days a week fo children ages 6 through 17 who have mental health and or substance abuse issues and need crisis intervention. The length of stay is usually 3-7 days.

Crisis Stabilization Services
Description
Inpatient mental health facility provides evaluation, diagnosis, and stabilization of mental illness and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorders. This is accomplished by providing a protective environment, medication, counseling and discharge plan. Individuals may be admitted to the Crisis Stabilization Unit either voluntarily or involuntarily by legal order and are accepted in compliance with the State of Florida and DCF regulations. Referrals to other services are made when necessary.

Substance Abuse Detoxification Unit
Description
Provides a 20-bed detoxification unit. Services are available to all adult residents of Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie Counties. The Detox Unit is a medical, non-hospital service for adults who are experiencing acute symptoms from substance abuse. Provides necessary medication to prevent withdrawal symptoms. Also provides medical and psychosocial evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to establish motivation for continued sobriety.

Mental Health Court
Description
Mental Health Court addresses the needs of individuals with mental illness who are charged with a crime. It is a collaboration of the judicial system, Public Defenders office, States Attorney office and area mental health and substance abuse treatment providers. New Horizons professionals work with the defendants to help them navigate the judicially supervised treatment plan and obtain the necessary services and treatment in the community. Successfully completing treatment could result in their charges dismissed.

Adult Intensive Case Management Services
Description
Provides intensive case management services for individuals requiring more frequent interventions and a higher level of support to maintain stability. These individuals have experienced multiple inpatient hospitalizations or are displaying behaviors putting them at risk of even more intensive services. Services are provided primarily in the home or community setting with the goal of reducing inpatient and/or other pout of community placements.

Clozaril Clinic
Description
Clozaril Clinic serves clients living with schizophrenia who find that Clozapine is the most effective medication for managing their symptoms. The clinic follows a drug regime that is tightly monitored according to guidelines established by the FPA. Clients are referred from hospitals, private physicians, mental health centers and patients.

Mobile Crisis Response Team
Description
Provides mobile crisis intervention. Will go to client only when escorted by law enforcement. Services also include follow-up as needed to promote crisis resolution, evaluation and arrangement for inpatient hospitalization if necessary. Mobile Crisis services are provided by trained mental health professionals in an effort to provide safe alternatives to involuntary admissions to treatment facilities.
