Description
Provides Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program (EHEAP) which assists low-income households who include at least one individual age sixty and older and are experiencing a home energy crisis. Past due and final notice only.

Eligibility
1. Applicant must be 60+years, with a Government issued photo ID for all members of household (birth certificates for children) 2. Verification of address for all members of household over 18 years. 3. Proof of income for 30 days for all members of household 18 years and older. Award Letter from Social Security/SSI. Award letter for public assistance (food stamps). 4. Proof of home ownership or rental agreement (current and complete). If subsidized housing a copy of the calculation worksheet that shows the UTILITY ALLOWANCE - THIS IS REQUIRED. 5. Social Security Card for all members of the household. 6. The utility bill must be in the applicant name. If bill is in someone else's name they need a letter signed and dated, giving the reason why the bill is in their name, even if he/she is a member of household. 7. Proof of US citizenship or legal residency for all members of the household.
