Eligibility

When you visit our Adoption Center, remember to: - Bring a U.S. Government Official Photo ID - Consider bringing along family members (including children) to meet the new cat or dog. - Verify that you are allowed to have a pet where you currently live. Some areas may have breed and size restrictions.

Fees

Cats 0-5 months old: $175; Cats 6 months and older: $50; Dogs 0 - 25 lbs. and 6 months and older: $300; Dogs 26 lbs. and up and 6 months and older: $150; Dogs 0-5 months old: $450. We also have fee-waived adoption events throughout the year.

    Animals must have been found within Palm Beach County. Animals found outside of Palm Beach County should be taken to a local shelter, this will give the animal the best chance of being reunited with its owner.

        Description

        Spaying or neutering your pet helps prevent health issues, reduces unwanted behaviors and makes life easier for both of you! To schedule an appointment for owned pets, please visit PeggyAdams.org/Clinic. Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) is a program in which outdoor cats are humanely trapped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and then returned to their outdoor homes. TNVR has been shown to be the most efficient and humane way of stabilizing the population of outdoor cats. To schedule an appointment for free-roaming community cats, please visit PeggyAdams.org/TNVR.

        Fees

        Cat spay/neuter surgeries are $90, which includes spay/neuter, a microchip, and pain medication. Rabies vaccine and other feline vaccines are available for an additional charge. Dog spay/neuter surgeries are $160 for dogs that are 24.9 pounds or under; $210 for dogs that are 25-49.9 pounds; $260 for dogs that are 50-70 pounds. The procedure includes pain medication and a cone. Vaccines, heartworm tests, microchips and more are available for an additional charge. -TNVR surgery for outdoor cats is free for Palm Beach County residents ($90 for out of county), which includes spay/neuter, mandatory microchip & ear tip, Rabies & FVRCP vaccines, and pain medication. Traps for TNVR are available for loan with a refundable deposit ($95 for Tru-Catch traps or $45 for Harbor Freight traps) on a credit/debit card.
