Habitat builds simple, decent homes with the help of partner families. Habitat homes are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with no interest loans. The homeowners' monthly mortgage payments are used to build more Habitat houses. Additionally, the Brush with Kindness program provides minor exterior repairs, painting, landscaping and weatherization for existing homes throughout Martin County.

Habitat Martin does not give homes away or provide emergency/short-term rentals. This is a long-term housing solution. Habitat Homeowners are selected based on need for affordable housing, the ability to repay a no interest mortgage and the willingness to partner with Habitat. In addition to an escrow down payment and the monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest 300 hours of !€œsweat equity!€ into building their house and the houses of future neighbors.

The Habitat Restores sell donated goods, household and building supplies using the proceeds to build homes for working families in need.
